HOW TO BREAK IN NEW BOXING GLOVES?

There are multiple myths about ‘Breaking in new boxing gloves’. Some say this, some say that. Being a manufacturing brand, we will do our best to share our honest opinion, which is created by working directly with different Boxing Coaches and athletes for almost a decade. Hopefully, you will find out findings unique and different from all the previous information you have been fed from other blogs and articles on this topic.

Please know that the first thing to know is braking in new boxing gloves is not a problem at all for injection moulded foams padded boxing gloves. It is called IMF padding, some say machine moulded padding etc. So if you are buying IMF (Injection Moulded Foam) padded gloves, whether they are genuine leather construction or artificial leather construction with any clever terminology like Maya Hide leather, Faux Leather etc, there is no need for you to be worried about this.

This problem mostly occurs when you buy a hand moulded Boxing Gloves, whether you buy with genuine leather or artificial leather construction.

Now, it does not mean you should not buy hand-moulded boxing gloves. In reality, hand-moulded boxing gloves are a better choice for better hand protection. It is because it absorbs the impact of the strike in a more brilliant way.

Now, when you got one such glove, to break in, first thing is to understand the problem. Either you have bought smaller gloves than your hands or it is the right pair according to your hand size?

Now if it is the right size and still, do boxing gloves hurt?
Now you better need to see which area of the inside gloves is more hurting your hand. You can push the padding from the inside of the gloves outwards which will fix the padding according to your hand shape. You can also punch your gloved hand on the palm of your other hand for fixing this padding issue. Once your hand is comfortable inside your gloves, now you can hit the pads or punch bag lightly in the beginning. If you want your gloves for sparring sessions, then avoid doing too much practice on the heavy bag, otherwise, it is the right step here to break in the boxing gloves. It will get soft after a few rounds on the bag. If it is not getting comfortable, you have bought terrible padding boxing gloves. You better need to replace these gloves, if possible.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR BOXING GLOVES:

To maintain boxing gloves, never use your gloves on the wall, etc. Your gloves are not made with iron or some other such material, which can be used on walls or bricks etc.

Never put your gloves in the tumble dryer or washing machine to clean them up. This is totally out-of-mind practice. Real leather is going to be messed up if you will apply water and for artificial leather-made gloves, your inside padding is going to be ridiculous if you will not protect your gloves from water. Though some Parana Sports boxing gloves like Parana Contender Boxing Gloves are having waterproof lining inside them, still, washing them directly cannot stop 100% water from going inside them.

Never put oil or water inside or on the outer surface of the gloves. All these practices can mess up your gloves in no time.

If we cannot wash the gloves then, how to clean boxing gloves? Well, rather than practicing such things, you can buy a boxing glove cleaning kit, to clean your gloves from the inside to keep the bad odor away from the inside of the gloves. You can also use a good fragrance scent to rub on the inside lining which can also make your gloves with good fragrance for long usage.
